The courts in Elche will start to hear evidence from today, Wednesday, against a man and a woman, whom the Prosecutor’s Office claims two years in prison and a fine, for employing nine workers in their Elche shoe factory without a work contract and without being registered with Social Security.
The events occurred on February 9, 2015 when members of the Labour Inspectorate went to the company’s headquarters and verified the situation of the employees. Now they are accused of a crime against the rights of workers.
On the other hand, also today and in the same courts, an estate agent is being tried accused of defrauding more than one million euro from a man whom he offered to participate in investments in housing developments with unrealistic conditions, such as very low mortgages. or unencumbered properties.
The events occurred from the year 2017 and, according to the public prosecution, the injured party responded to the requests for money made by the defendant because of the trust he had placed in him and because the man came to deliver manipulated private documents that supported the deception.
The Prosecutor’s Office requests a 6-year prison sentence for the defendant for the crimes of aggravated fraud and falsehood.
