Guardia Civil to reconstruct fatal crash scene
Officers from the Guardia Civil, with specialists in crash assessment, will be in the Lugo town of Xove on Wednesday to reconstruct the crash that occurred on 1 April, in which four young people lost their lives, one of them a minor aged 17, while the other three were between 18 and 19 years old.
Thus, the Department of Investigation and Reconstruction of Traffic Accidents (Dirat) will carry out the necessary work for the preparation of a complementary technical inspections.
The crash killed the four young people, two men and two women, all of them residents of Ribadeo (Lugo), and left another seriously injured, the driver, who gave a positive breathalyser test, while the sixth occupant was slightly injured and was treated at the scene of the incident. The two survivors were 19 years of age at the time of the crash.
The crash occurred on the LUP-2604, on a sharp curve in A Rigueira near the Palmeiro urbanisation in the Lugo town of Xove. The vehicle left the road and plunged from a height of between 3 and 4 metres, ending up inside a private farm, as confirmed by the mayor of Xove, Demtrio Salgueiro.
Guardia Civil officers have also investigated the other surviving occupant who was slightly injured in case he had committed “a crime of omission of help by having been absent from the scene of the accident without helping the other two occupants of the vehicle or demanding help”.
