Millions in EU funding for Guardia Civil border patrol boats
The Guardia Civil highlighted the two new patrol boats which are added to their fleet, funded mainly by the European Union.
The project involves the acquisition of a medium-sized patrol boat, and a high-speed vessel, within the framework of the Internal Security Fund.
The total amount of the project comes to 4,017,636 euro, of which the EU will pay 75%.
The boats will primarily be used for border patrol and immigration issues in the waters of Spain, although they will also no doubt form part of the task force which deals constantly with the flow of drugs across the continent.
