“Mi Carpeta Ciudadana” is an application launched by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, through the General Secretariat for Digital Administration attached to the Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, and allows users to connect various Spanish administrative functions in one simple application.
The fourth official version has now been launched, available in the stores of iOS and Android as well as through the web. In this way, the initial objectives of growth and improvement of this public service continue to be met with information from all administrations.
The good news for foreign residents, is that the app is also available in English. You do need a digital signature to access it though.
The fourth official version of “Mi Carpeta Ciudadana”, available in the official application markets, incorporates the following new functionalities and improvements of interest to citizens as well as new organisations that provide information through “Mi Carpeta Ciudadana”:
Mainly, the consultation of the Digital Medical Record of the National Health System integrating the new service offered by the Ministry of Health that allows unified viewing of the information from the different health services of the Autonomous Communities offering to view data from different services in a single interface, when assistance has been received in several of them, and allowing the sharing of health data in the case of travel. A project possible thanks to the collaboration with the Ministry of Health, through its General Secretariat of Digital Health, Information and Innovation of the National Health System.
New “Services” section to which new functionalities will be added to allow the start of actions and which will also allow connection with other mobile applications of the administration of interest and outstanding utility.
Within this section, the possibility of sending documents and requests through the General Electronic Registry that may be addressed to the different public administrations of the different administrative levels is incorporated. Said registration service is provided in collaboration with the General Directorate of Public Governance of the Ministry of Finance and Public Function.
Connection with the appearance of notifications through the new “DEHú Notificaciones” mobile application (available for Android devices and iOS devices) that will allow direct management from this mobile application. This mobile application can also be used independently so that legal persons, companies and freelancers can also use it to collect their notifications.
Incorporation of the consultation of the status of files for Local Entities that are completing the process of joining the service. The service starts with the data from the Provincial Councils of Albacete, Cuenda, Huesca and León. In the coming weeks and months, numerous local entities from all over the territory will be incorporated.
Inclusion of information and services related to electoral processes, both the significant milestones in the calendar and a new “citizenship” section within the “My Folder” section.
“Mi Carpeta Ciudadana” allows you to consult from your mobile, and from a single point, personal documentation from various fields (educational, real estate, vehicles and driver’s licence points, registration, large family, degree of disability and dependency, absence of criminal records , job demand, more than 40 public social benefits, etc.)
Access to files and notifications of the public administration is also facilitated through the Single Enabled Electronic Address – DEHú . And it allows to know the previous appointments managed by the public Administrations, and to receive notices about expirations of procedures related to DNI, Passport, Driving Licence and ITV. In this way, the relationship between the administration and the public is simplified in an accessible, proactive and personalised way from any device.
Since its launch, it already has more than 2 million different users, it has exceeded 1.5 million downloads on iOS and Android and more than 12 million accesses have been made.
The trajectory of the “Mi Carpeta Ciudadana” app is in line with the 2023/2024 Roadmap that is published openly for all citizens as an exercise in transparency, also including the provision of incorporating functionalities considering citizen feedback.
This initiative is being carried out thanks to the excellent collaboration and joint work with the different national, regional, local and university administrations and their different public bodies.
Digital Transformation of Public Administrations
“Mi Carpeta Ciudadana” was the first mobile application within the Media App Factory of the Public Administration Digitisation Plan, whose objective is to promote the development of quality mobile services for the main public services.
The recognition granted by the 2023 Internet Awards, where it was awarded as the best digital transformation project in the public sector, and by the National Computer Engineering Awards, where it was awarded as the best public project, confirms the effort that is being made by public administrations for digitisation, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, the Digital Spain agenda and the Plan for the Digitisation of Public Administrations.
