The Union of Air Traffic Controllers (USCA) will maintain the call for a strike, which continues during the month of August, in the towers that depend on the private provider Saeco, while proposing to its affiliates not to support the strike in the Skyway towers.
Thus, the towers of La Coruña, Castellón, Cuatro Vientos, El Hierro, Fuerteventura, Jerez, La Palma, Lanzarote, Seville and Vigo, which depend on Saerco, will continue to strike as a pressure measure to unblock the resolution of the conflict and the negotiation of the IV agreement of private controllers. According to USCA, this “supplier refuses to accept the agreement, making it impossible to sign a possible agreement.”
On the other hand, the controller’s union proposes to its affiliates not to support the stoppages in the dependencies belonging to Skyway, which are the towers of Ibiza, Alicante, Valencia, Murcia, Sabadell and Lleida. The reason is that Skyway has been accepting, in the successive meetings of the negotiating table, the bulk of the claims of the social party and considers that the discrepancies will be resolved within the framework of the sectoral negotiation.
“After six months of strike, and understanding that the blocking of the signing of the Collective Agreement is due to the other private provider present in the sector, SAERCO, USCA will propose to its affiliates that they do not support the strikes in the dependencies belonging to Skyway”, they assure from the union.
Minimum service levels will still be maintained.
