Jerez Airport has designed a special operation to attend to the activity that will be generated by the informal Development Cooperation meeting, a meeting that is part of the Spanish presidency of the Council of the European Union and that will be held in Cádiz today, Tuesday, and tomorrow.
This operation, designed in collaboration with the airlines, their handling agents and the State Security Forces and Bodies, will make it possible to expedite and coordinate the reception of attendees at this summit, as well as adapt the services to the needs of an event of this type.
To this end, the airport reinforced its customer service staff from Sunday, has delimited a part of the boarding area to add it to the authority’s room and optimised its capacity.
According to the schedule, about a hundred delegates were scheduled to arrive through the Jerez Airport on twenty flights, most of them commercial.
This meeting is expected to be chaired by Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and by José Manuel Albares, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Government of Spain.
The event, which is expected to be attended by representatives of more than 30 delegations, will begin on the 4th with a dinner at the Casa de Iberoamérica in Cádiz. The next day, the informal meeting will take place at the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions in the capital of Cadiz.
Linked to the presidency of the European Union, Jerez hosted the technical meeting of the High Level Group on Education and Training at the end of June. The Watchtower Museums were the space chosen to hold these meetings, which are organised by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, and will be attended by different educational leaders from the member states of the European Union.
The Cádiz event will coincide with another scheduled in Córdoba with the celebration of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council which started on Sunday and finishes Today.
