The Criminal Court number 1 of Albacete will begin to hear evidence from today, Tuesday, against a man, identified with the initials JAMP, accused of sexually abusing a sleeping woman during a party in Albacete.
According to the indictment, the events took place on July 22, 2018, when the defendant, JAMP, was at the home of acquaintances with several friends, including the victim.
During the course of the party, JAMP made advances numerous times to the victim, who, according to the accusation, made it clear that she did not want any physical contact with the accused.
Despite this, hours later, taking advantage of the fact that the guests had left the house and that the victim was asleep on the sofa, JAMP began to touch her, even pulling down the top part of the jumpsuit she was wearing, leaving the victim’s chest exposed. The accused stopped when one of the residents of the home appeared.
The facts constitute a crime against sexual freedom for which the Prosecutor’s Office requests a sentence of 30 months in prison, which, since the accused is a Salvadoran national, could be replaced by expulsion from the national territory for 8 years.
Likewise, the Public Prosecutor’s Office requests a restraining order of 500 metres with respect to the victim for four years, as well as four years of supervised release during which he must participate in sexual education programs.
Finally, JAMP must compensate the victim in the amount of 3,000 euro in civil liability.
