A change in the weather is expected this week, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), as little by little, summer is being left behind and the doors are beginning to open to autumn.
Starting on Monday the 11th, a period with more rain than normal is expected “in large areas of the Peninsula.” They pay special attention especially to the northern and interior half of the peninsula.
As far as temperatures are concerned, they will be quite close to what is usual on these dates, becoming cooler inside. For its part, the rest of Spain is expected to be warm.
Prediction models announce for the week of September 18 to 24 more rainfall than normal. Especially in the northwest of the Peninsula, the Cantabrian Sea and the Pyrenees.
As for thermometers, everything indicates that there will be a colder environment in inland areas. In the Mediterranean and the archipelagos, somewhat warmer temperatures are expected.
Looking ahead to the last week of the month, they confirm that “there is no clear trend in terms of rainfall.” Sometimes it is difficult to anticipate so many days in advance what the weather will offer us. The AEMET does appreciate a general increase in mercury in almost the entire Peninsula.
Only points in the interior and the two archipelagos will be spared from this rebound. In any case, we will have to remain very attentive to the evolution of the maps and the forecasts of the experts.
