Medical centre worker facing prison for WhatsApp message
This Thursday, the Valencia Court judges a woman accused of consulting the Servasa database – the Valencian health service – to obtain the phone number of a friend’s former boyfriend in order to contact him to share information about his former partner.
The defendant worked at a health centre located in Valencia, and, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, sent a WhatsApp message to the affected person to tell him that his partner, the person’s friend, had been unfaithful.
The events occurred on an undetermined date between December 2020 and February 2022, after the accused and her friend had ended their friendship.
The public prosecution is provisionally requesting a sentence of two and a half years in prison and the payment of a fine, maintaining that these facts constitute a crime of revealing secrets.
