Vueling most punctual low-cost airline in Europe

Spanish airline, Vueling, a company belonging to the IAG group, is the most punctual airline in the low-cost sector in Europe, and second in all airlines in the continent, according to the latest figures released this week covering November.

Vueling has a punctuality index of 86.3% in more than 15,700 operated flights, according to the global consulting firm specialised in aviation analysis Cirium.

The recent report “The On-Time Performance Review” places Vueling in second place in the general ranking of European airlines, being the airline with the most flights during the period analysed. Vueling is also in third place on the list of the top ten most punctual “low-cost” airlines in the world.

At Barcelona airport, Vueling is the leading low-cost airline in punctuality in November, where it has reached an index of 89.7% with almost five thousand flights operated. The airline is also the most punctual low-cost airline in the month of November in Bilbao (86.3%), Seville (91.3%), Palma de Mallorca (93.9%), Tenerife North (85.4%), Gran Canaria (89.4%), Santiago de Compostela (89.5%), A Coruña (86.7%) and Vigo (84.2%).

According to Oliver Iffert, Chief Operations Officer at Vueling, “these results are the result of our commitment to excellence in our operations and the efforts of all the people who are part of Vueling. On the other hand, leading punctuality in the main Spanish and European airports where we operate is also a source of pride and further proof of our great commitment to the customer.”

Cirium’s punctuality reports for airlines and airports are the oldest analysis of its kind in the industry, starting in 2008. The analysis is based on flight data from more than 600 real-time flight information sources, with an independent advisory board, which ensures an accurate and balanced view of airline punctuality analysis.
