Four arrested for selling weapons to criminal organisations
The Guardia Civil arrested four people, three in Malaga and one in Valencia, for selling weapons to criminal groups throughout the country. They are accused of crimes of illegal arms trafficking, membership in a criminal organisation and illicit possession of weapons.
The agents discovered several people living in the province of Malaga who had been illegally trafficking weapons, including war weapons, throughout the national territory since the 2020 confinement.
To avoid being discovered, they established contacts and carried out transactions through encrypted messaging applications.
The Guardia Civil has carried out five searches, four in the province of Malaga and one in Valencia, where they have found a real firearm with two loaded magazines, another high-capacity loaded magazine, more than 86,000 euro in cash, high-value jewellery, and numerous mobile phones with which they carried out the transactions.
This operation, called “Trueca”, remains open and further arrests have not been ruled out. The investigation has been directed by the Investigative Court No. 12 of Malaga and carried out by Information agents of the Guardia Civil in Andalusia and the Information Headquarters (UCE3). There has also been support from the Rapid Action Group, the Operational Support Group and the Cynological Service.
