Food price rise concerns

The benchmark index for global food product prices increased for the third consecutive month in May (+0.9% compared to April), as higher prices for cereals and dairy products offset falls in sugar and vegetable oil prices.

Despite the increase, this figure remains 3.4% below the value corresponding to the same month of the previous year and almost 30% lower than the maximum reached in March 2022.
