On Tuesday the trial will begin against the member of a brotherhood from Torrent (Valencia) whom the Prosecutor’s Office accuses of keeping part of the money from a prize from the 2017 Sorteo del Niño, traditionally held around Three King’s, that went to the association and that corresponded to four associates.
According to the public accusation, the man, one of those in charge of selling and distributing the tickets for the lottery in which the brotherhood played, kept several of them once he was aware of the prize, instead of giving them to the injured parties, to whom they should be reserved according to traditions of the entity.
The Public Ministry requests four years and three months in prison for a crime of misappropriation, and that as civil liability it compensates the four injured parties with amounts of between 90,000 and 120,000 euro corresponding to the prize that they would have received.
