The total number of seats planned on international flights to Spain for the month of July 2024 reaches 12.5 million, according to data released by Turespaña. Compared to the same month in 2023, when 11.4 million were offered, the year-on-year increase is 9.5%.
For the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, “this increase in seats planned on international flights compared to last year predicts a very positive summer season for the sector. Spain is among the top preferences of international tourists, which indicates that the quality of our destinations is increasingly appreciated.”
Comparing the forecast number of seats in July with the data recorded for the equivalent date in 2023, the main issuing markets continue to perform well: the United Kingdom (+5.4%), Germany (+7.4%), Italy (+14.5%) and France (8.4%).
On the other hand, the sharp increases in Poland and the Czech Republic stand out, with a 25% increase. The notable increase in the USA also continues, with 17%, and the progress of the Nordic countries stands out, with increases in Finland (10.1%), Sweden (7.6%), Denmark (3.3%) and Norway (0.4%).
Among the Latin American markets, Mexico and Colombia recorded the highest volume of scheduled capacities.
