MAN DROWNS ON GUARDAMAR BEACH

A man died on Wednesday evening at the beach of “Els Vivers” in Guardamar del Segura. The beach is located on the harbour side of the segura river outlet.

Reports from the emergency services state that they received a notification of the incident at 19:21, when the man was pulled from the water but resuscitation attempts were without results.

The man was on the beach, accompanied by three relatives, who were treated by psychologists from teh Cruz Roja.

The beach in question was unsupervised at the time, although the adjacent beaches were flying a red flag prohibiting swimming.
