Over sixty members and friends of The Orihuela Costa branch of The Royal British Legion enjoyed an evening at Alfie’s Place in La Zenia last Sunday evening where, in age old tradition, they celebrated the birth of Scotland’s favourite son, Robert (Rabbi) Burns.
The haggis was piped in by Barry Waddington of the Torrevieja Pipes and Drums, followed by Jim Watt with the haggis, which was addressed by Mark who then entertained us with some Scottish dancing. An excellent meal followed together with dancing to the music and singing by Andy Jones.
The raffle raised 198€ of which 98€ was donated to the Poppy Appeal. A good night was had by all.
The next Rbl event will be a luncheon on Thursday 26th February at La Piazza 2 at Punta Marina. This will be followed by the Easter Sunday lunch on April 5th at Sunrise.
