Fraudulent Freight Network Disbanded
Officers from the Guardia Civil have disbanded a network dedicated to international freight traffic, after it was found that the group were heavily involved in avoiding tax payments,
The alleged fraud is currently valued in excess of 14 million euro, but investigators believe the final figure will be around 300 million euro.
The organisation would use the identities of Chinese workers in order to perform a variety of illegal activities in connection with the fraud.
Raids were carried out across premises in Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, resulting in the arrest of 32 members of the gang in connection with tax matters and a further 47 people in connection with money laundering against the treasury.
