San Miguel de Salinas council is trying to breathe new life into the almost empty site that was going to feature the Los Invernaderos urbanisation. An agreement to build a 1,800 home urbanisation next to the CV-95 road was signed in 2005, but the builder quit the site, leaving the basic infrastructure uncompleted and ignoring demands from the council to do so.

Urban planning councillor Sergio Correas told the Información newspaper that there is a lot of interest in the area from developers, but that the council will have pay for the infrastructure work that the original developer did not do. The local residents association has in the past voiced concerns over the fact that local taxpayers will end up having to foot the bill to finish off the project. Correas has said that the council will take legal action to try to recover any costs.
