Driving in Spain
Flying between Manchester and Spain? Beware of these new charges!
If you´re flying between Spain and Manchester in the U.K., you might not be aware that the airport is about to start charging all vehicles dropping passengers off at the terminal building.
The airport says that the aim is to try and relieve “crippling congestion” around the terminal buildings and have set up a free drop-off area at Jetparks 1, which is near to Terminal 2, where a shuttle bus will take passengers to the correct terminal.
The airport says that the fees will be implemented from Tuesday, July 10, with a charge of £3 for five minutes or £4 for ten minutes.
If you are flying from Spain to Manchester and are expected to be picked up at the airport, there is no change to arrangements for picking people up, as all vehicles are currently asked to use the car parks at each terminal, which cost £4 for 30 minutes.
Blue Badge holders will be allowed to drop-off for free and a resident´s permit is available at a cost of £30 a year allowing local residents who use the Airport Rail and Tram station to be dropped off there, although pick-up is from T1 Arrivals.
