America’s Most Wanted Arrested
Agents of the National Police have arrested a fugitive in Barcelona, known as “La Señora” or “La Jefa”, wanted for trafficking in drugs using the Ecuador-Mexico route. The arrested woman was told in force at INTERPOL an International Arrest Warrant issued by the Southern District of California (USA). She was part of a transnational criminal organization that sought to introduce, by sea, some 3,400 kilograms of cocaine from Colombia into the United States.
The operation began when the agents received an urgent communication requesting the location and detention of a woman born in Ecuador and wanted for a drug trafficking crime. The fugitive had an International Arrest Warrant issued by the Southern District of California (USA).
Boat owner
The wanted woman was part of an international criminal organization that was trying to introduce drugs into the United States. Specifically, they used the Ecuador-Mexico sea route to try to transport 3,400 kilograms of cocaine from Colombia. Within the group, the one now arrested coordinated the resupply, both of fuel and other supplies, to the ships loaded with drugs that sailed without a flag or to fishing boats, including a vessel owned by her. They also reported on the departures of these and the locations of the supply points.
With all this information, and as a result of the investigations carried out by the agents, it was possible to locate the fugitive in Barcelona and, after carrying out a police raid, it was possible to carry out her arrest and subsequently bring her to justice.
