The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, has transferred Spain’s support to the efforts of the United Nations system to end the war in Ukraine and to alleviate the situation of global food insecurity caused by Russian aggression.
The president held a meeting with Antonio Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations, with whom he has had the opportunity to address issues of relevance in the international context.
Likewise, Sánchez had the opportunity during this meeting to reaffirm Spain’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Summit to be held in September, when Spain will hold the rotating presidency of the Council of the EU.
In addition, Pedro Sánchez and Antonio Guterres have addressed the situation in which Sudan, Western Sahara, Libya, the Middle East and Haiti find themselves.
