Spain and Europe under the financial spotlight this week

In the global world of money, this week starts without notable references on the macroeconomic level in Spain. Attention shifts to the eurozone, where a new Eurogroup meeting will take place and where the industrial production figures for March will be released, whereas in the US, the Empire State manufacturing index for May will be published. At the business level, Colonial ‘s results for the first quarter will stand out.

In the UK, Liz Truss will be back in the spotlight with a visit to Taiwan. The ONS releases birth figures on Monday, and the Rightmove Price Index will reveal the housing situation in the country. On Tuesday, we will see UK employment figures and quarterly productivity estimate. Greggs will reveal how well they are doing and later in the week we will see Royal Mail, EasyJet, BT and Walmart financial statements.

Spain

Colonial expects to present its first quarter results.

Eurozone

Eurostat publishes industrial production for March.

Eurostat publishes the statistics of overnight stays in tourist accommodation for February.

Estimate of EU GDP.

EU inflation figures.

The ECB publishes the total reserve assets for April.

Eurogroup meeting. Macro developments, banking union and central bank digital currencies are on the agenda.
