The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training gives the green light to the expansion of the state network of Vocational Training centres of excellence with the publication of a new call for aid worth 24 million euro.
Currently, the network has 45 public centres located in the 17 autonomous communities, which are driving innovative ecosystems, new methodologies and the latest technologies at the service of Vocational Training. The expansion of this fabric represents an important advance in the consolidation of the new Vocational Training model connected to the different productive sectors and based on applied research, sustainability and entrepreneurship.
These funds, from component 20 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, will be used to finance the projects to incorporate the selected centres into the network.
The regional administrations, recipients of the investment and responsible for its justification, may request this financing as of September 7 for those centres that provide Vocational Training offers linked to the National Catalogue of Professional Qualifications and belonging to predefined professional sectors.
With this additional item of 24 million euro, the investment in the creation of this network of excellence reaches 74 million euro in two years.
The members of this ecosystem act as creators of environments of innovation, sustainability and entrepreneurship in the field of Vocational Training, three fundamental transversal axes of the new vocational training model promoted by the Government of Spain.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training has published a new call for aid worth 30 million euro for the development of applied innovation and research projects and knowledge transfer in the field of Vocational Training.
This financing, also coming from component 20 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, will go to Vocational Training centres that provide Vocational Training for students or workers, and to organisations and companies that develop this type of projects jointly. At least two Vocational Training centres and a company, foundation, association or entity will participate in them, up to a maximum of three.
With this action, the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training aims to promote innovation and the transfer of knowledge between teachers, trainers, students and professionals of the participating companies to improve the quality of Vocational Training in Spain.
The selected initiatives will be linked to technological or environmental innovation, the development of skills related to digitalization, industry 4.0, 5G communication networks, the circular economy, or the reduction of the gender gap in women’s access to Vocational Training profiles related to STEAM degrees, among others.
Each of the Vocational Training centres participating in the project may request a maximum amount of 50,000 euro. In the case of companies or entities, this amount may not exceed 20,000 euro. The maximum amount requested per project may not exceed 120,000 euro.
