The acting Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, will inaugurate Fruit Attraction 2023 today, the fifteenth edition of a fair that year after year has become the main international event in the fruit sector, and an excellent tool for the commercial strengthening of those of Spanish origin.

The fair, which is held from October 3 to 5 at the IFEMA-Madrid, organised by IFEMA Madrid and the fruit and vegetable federation FEPEX, will occupy nine pavilions of the venue this year, turning Madrid into the world epicentre of the marketing of fresh fruits and vegetables. In this edition, an estimated participation of some 90,000 professional clients, 2,000 exhibiting companies and 137 countries.

Within the framework of the fair, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, accompanied by the Association of Strawberry Producers and Exporters of Huelva (Freshuelva) as co-exhibitor, will present a stand themed with the red fruit sector under the strategy #foodsdespaña and its “The richest country in the world” campaign.

Through this promotion strategy, the ministry wants to enhance the richness of Spanish food, connect the consumer with the productive fabric and encourage the consumption of Spanish products, including fruits and vegetables, as healthy and healthy foods.

On Tuesday, October 3, the ministry’s stand will host a presentation by Dr. Antonio Escribano, director of the scientific and health department of the interprofessional Interfresa, on the health benefits of red fruits.

And on Wednesday, October 4, the interprofessional Hortiespaña will present its promotional campaign “It’s from greenhouse.es”, financed by the European Union.

On the other hand, the ministry is going to sponsor the “Chef Factory” space, located in the connecting core of pavilions 6 and 8, where the gastronomic possibilities offered by some of the fruit and vegetable products present at Fruit Attraction will be announced at the hand of renowned national and international chefs.
