In general terms, October 9 forces businesses in Valencia, Alicante and Castellón to close on Monday, a big day for the Valencian Community, but will allow the possibility of having an exceptional opening day for large stores.
The Valencian Commerce Observatory approved the 11 days in which the exceptional opening of commercial establishments will be allowed on Sundays and holidays for the year 2023 in the Valencian Community and among them was Sunday, October 8, yesterday, due to the coincidence of two or more days holidays, because October 9, Monday, is a holiday in the Valencian Community.
In addition, there are still four other days until the end of the year in which shops can be opened on a holiday or Sunday due to the coincidence of holidays, traditional sales periods, large tourist influx and Christmas campaign: November 26 (Christmas and Epiphany campaign, coinciding with the Black Friday weekend), December 8 (for the Christmas and Epiphany Campaign), December 24, Sunday (due to the coincidence of two or more holidays, because December 25 Monday is Christmas) and December 31 (for the Christmas and Epiphany Campaign).
