Father and son drug dealers on trial

The Provincial Court of Pontevedra is hearing evidence in an oral hearing against two alleged drug traffickers who sold different narcotic substances, especially hashish, but also cocaine and MDMA (ecstasy), in various locations in the municipal areas. of Poio and Pontevedra.

The Prosecutor’s Office requests sentences of four years and three and a half years in prison, respectively, for each of the defendants, who are father and son, in its provisional qualification document.

The first of the accused, the youngest, as detailed in the accusation, is accused of being dedicated to the sale of hashish and cocaine at least between March and December 2021, during which time the police investigation was extended. During that time, the agents detected a good number of drug transactions in different parts of the capital of the province, both in the middle of the street and in some hospitality establishments, making various seizures from the recipients of those doses to justify their subsequent arrest and the searches of the properties related to it.

At the time of his arrest, he was carrying cocaine suspected of being for sale, and in the searches of the properties attributed to the two defendants, numerous evidence was found, such as more than a kilo of cannabis resin, several precision scales for the preparation of the doses and cocaine ready to be put into clandestine channels.

The searched homes are in San Salvador de Poio and also in the city of Pontevedra, and a hospitality establishment located in the provincial capital was also subject to inspection, where, in addition to other indications, various quantities of MDMA (ecstasy) were found in tablet form, all prepared for sale in the leisure areas of Boa Vila.

The analysis of the drugs seized indicates that hashish had between 30 and 40 percent THC, which indicates an important and harmful psychoactive power, cocaine around 80 percent, so it would not have been adulterated, and ecstasy approximately 40 percent.

Along with the prison sentences, the prosecutor in the case requests the payment of a fine of 30,000 euro for the son and 880 euro for his father.
