Drug dealing waitress facing deportation

The Provincial Court of will hear evidence from today, Wednesday, against a 27-year-old woman from Colombia, accused of a crime against public health, while she was working as a waitress in an establishment in Talavera de la Reina in 2020.

According to the prosecutor’s statement, on March 5, 2020, around 11:00 a.m., officers from the National Police went to the establishment where she worked, owned by another individual who is not connected to the case.

After carrying out a search of the establishment, the officers located a bag with 50 plastic wrappers containing a substance later identified as cocaine, with a total value in the illicit drug market of approximately 1,946.40 euro.

Likewise, a total of 505 euro were seized, which were distributed in a white envelope located next to the cash register, believed to be the result of the sale of the substance.

According to the prosecution’s brief, all the substance seized by the acting agents was pre-ordered for distribution, in such a way that the accused possessed it with the purpose of selling or distributing it to third parties in exchange for money to obtain an economic benefit.

For these reasons, the prosecution requests a sentence of 4 years in prison and a fine of 5,839.20 euro, for a crime against public health. However, under the provisions of article 89.1 of the Penal Code and given that the accused is not residing in the country in accordance with the law, the Prosecutor requests that the sentence be replaced by her expulsion from the national territory in the event of a final sentence of more than one year of deprivation of liberty.
