According to the state meteorological association, Aemet, the national average value of accumulated rainfall from the beginning of the hydrological year (October 1, 2023) until June 4 is estimated at 538 l/m 2, 2% more than the normal value corresponding to said period (526 l /m 2).

Precipitation exceeds normal values ​​in the western and interior half of the peninsula, in the Basque Country and Navarra and in the western half of the Pyrenees along with northern Aragon.

The accumulated quantities are below their normal values ​​in the eastern third of the peninsula, southern half of Andalusia, a strip that runs through Asturias and Cantabria and the two archipelagos.

They are especially low from Almería to the Ebro delta. In addition, in part of Murcia and Almería, along with the Valencian coast, less than a quarter of the precipitation has been recorded compared to its average value for the period 1991-2020.
