Homophobic balcony abuser facing prison
The Valencia Court will judge a man on Wednesday for shouting at his neighbours from the balcony of his house in Gandia (Valencia) with expressions that sought to ridicule and intimidate them due to their origin or sexual orientation.
The events occurred on November 12, 2022, when according to the report given by the Prosecutor’s Office, the defendant rebuked several people whom he addressed with homophobic insults and threats of violence and spat on one of the neighbours and threw objects at him from the balcony.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office requests a prison sentence of six years and nine months for the defendant for three hate crimes and two continuous crimes of threats, according to the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community.
