British golfer dies in lake tragedy

A British citizen, aged around 70, died yesterday as a result of drowning after falling into a lake on the Matalascañas golf course in Almonte, Huelva, after attempting to pick up a ball that was lost.

The accident occurred at the Dunas de Doñana golf course, at playa de Matalascañas, when the player attempted to continue the game from the lake to hole five, slipped and fell into the water.

It is believed that the victim could not swim. The victim was pulled from the lake but died shortly after.
