A DOG FIT FOR A KING

Fast becoming a celebrity in his own right, the most famous dog in Spain, Ajax, who successfully saved countless lives after detecting a second bomb during an ETA terrorist attack on the island of Mallorca, will be given his latest accolade on Tuesday of this week.

Having already received a medal from the UK PDSA last week, 12 year old Ajax is already on lighter duties in the Guardia Civil, but on Tuesday he is being given a day off his law enforcement role having been invited to a lunch audience with the King of Spain.

The King’s House confirmed on Monday that King Juan Carlos will hold an audience with agents of the security services, to which Ajax is the principle guest.

It is not known what will be on the menu, but there is no doubt that Ajax will be excited about his visit to the palace, as his original role during that 2009 attack was working for the King, as part of the royal protection detail.
