Spanish Treasury and Regional Government of the Canary Islands close to agreement on renewal of island tax regime
21/01/2014. The Minister for the Treasury and Public Administration Services, Cristóbal Montoro, and the State Secretary for the Treasury, Miguel Ferre, met with the Regional Councillor for Economic Affairs, the Treasury and Security of the Regional Government of the Canary Islands, Javier González Ortíz, at the ministerial headquarters today in order to discuss the renewal of the Economic and Fiscal Regime (Spanish acronym: REF) of the Canary Islands and the so-called Tax on Imports and Deliveries of Goods to the Canary Islands (Spanish acronym: AIEM).
