Pirate Website Manager Arrested in Torrevieja
Officers from the National Police have arrested a 44 year old Spanish national in Torrevieja, accused of being the manager of a website dedicated to providing films and TV shows on demand via the internet.
The investigation began following complaints from various film companies regarding the illegal distribution of their films. Viewers were able to subscribe to the services and watch via their computers, televisions and mobile phone applications, with the individuals behind the website profiting from their activities.
The officers explained that whilst many of these websites which have been previously investigated carried links to shows and films, in this case the files were stored on servers operated by the web managers.
During the raid, officers seized a laptop, a mobile phone, three pen drives and a tablet.
