The Valencia regional government are apparently supporting the decision by Torrevieja town hall to clamp down on illegal bars and clubs who flout the licensing laws.
One particular case is that of the Vela Beach bar in La Mata which will have to remedy serious violations of planning laws such as providing sufficient emergency exits, sound proofing and adequate liability insurance for their capacity, before their license to open can be granted.
In addition, the owners of that particular bar are facing a 43,000 euro fine for not complying with the law prior to Torrevieja town hall taking action and closing them down.
