Orihuela Police Research Pirate Taxis

Orihuela local police, along with colleagues from other forces and interested parties, have been taking part in a seminar offering information and advice regarding so-called “pirate” taxis.

Unlicensed vehicles doing frequent “airport runs” are a common occurrence in the Costa Blanca area, and the conference was arranged to provide information about relevant laws and information to allow officers to be more up to date with the legislation in order to help crack down on the problem and support licenced taxis who pay for additional insurance, vehicle checks and for their licence to ensure compliance and safety.
