The Provincial Court of Alicante will begin to hear evidence from today, Monday, against a man accused of having sexual relations with his sentimental partner when she was asleep. The Prosecutor’s Office requests a sentence of eight years in prison for sexual abuse.

According to the information provided by the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community, the defendant and his girlfriend, who had been in a relationship for a month, went out together on the night of December 21, 2019, in Alicante. At dawn she felt unwell due to the intake of alcoholic beverages and they both went to sleep at his house.

According to the public prosecution, in the morning the defendant took advantage of the fact that the woman was fast asleep to have sexual relations until the victim woke up and reproached him.

The Prosecutor’s Office will request an eight-year prison sentence for the defendant in the trial scheduled in the first section of the Provincial Court of Alicante as the perpetrator of a crime of sexual abuse, according to the same sources.
