BATHER DIES IN TORREVIEJA

A man believed to be in his 70´s and on holiday in Torrevieja, died whilst bathing on a beach at Cala Ferrís, between Mar Azul and palmeral de Ferrís.

The body of the man was spotted floating in the water by other beach goers, who alerted the emergency services.

As the beach in question is not covered by any lifeguard services, the Guardia Civil attended and two officers recovered the man´s body.

Resuscitation attempts were made, but there was nothing that could be done to save his life. The body was removed from the scene and a post mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
