LA MARINA GOLF SOCIETY – THE ROYAL MARINES TROPHY

Winner of the Trophy for the 3rd year in the last 4 ,with a score of 30 points was Secretary Alan Craig.

We gathered at the BonAlba course to compete in the annual “Royal Marines Trophy” which is a 4 club competition, kindly sponsored by ex-Marine Eric Edwards.

A cold start which developed into a lovely warm sunny day and by noon most were down to shirt sleeves.

Winner of the Trophy for the 3rd year in the last 4 ,with a score of 30 points was Secretary Alan Craig.

The longest drive prize was won by Bill Stobo who also won nearest the pin on a Par 4.

Many thanks to Eric for providing the prizes and it was good to see him compete ,despite his recent medical problems.

Nearest the pin prizes were won by Elspeth Craig, Alan Craig and Tim Ruse.

We look forward to our next game at Alicante Golf on 22nd January ,10a.m. start.Cost is 40Euros including buggy,insurance,coffee and tostada.

On Tuesday 27th January we are holding our first Bingo Quiz of the year ,cost 8 Euros with a meal of either Steak Pie or Fish and Chips. Please let Elspeth know your requirements asap on elspeth4mcd@yahoo.co.uk or tel.965077204.

New members are always welcome at a cost of 15 euros p.a. Please contact Alan Craig on the above number if you are interested.

Finally many thanks to Paulo for opening up the La Marina Club during his well-deserved Winter break and providing us with a good spread.
