Hot Thursday
The health department across the region of Valencia reports that they attended eleven people on Thursday who had suffered as a result of high temperatures.
Although an alert had been issued warning of the high temperatures, none of those who needed medical attention were in a serious condition.
Two of those who were in difficulty were aged just 16 and were attended by basic life support ambulance crews who treated their condition.
One man in his 60´s was attended by medics in Torrevieja and had to be transferred to hospital for monitoring and treatment.
In parts of the country the hottest temperatures in history were recorded, whereas Orihuela also set a new record of 39.8 degrees, beating the previous 39.0 degrees record in 1965.
