WhatsApp abuser in court

A 43-year-old man will sit on the dock of the Criminal Court 1 of Vigo on Monday, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of threatening a Local Police officer in the city and faces a sentence 2 years in prison.

According to the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office, the events date back to May 12, 2021, when the Local Police officer participated in the arrest of the accused, in an action from which proceedings are still pending.

From that moment and, at least until August 21, 2022, the man is accused of sending “continuous and repeated text and WhatsApp messages” to this official with serious threats.

Thus, in addition to insulting him, he even threatened to kill him with phrases such as “I’ll blow your head off,” “I’ll take your head out of the place,” “there are debts that are paid with blood”, amongst others.

Due to these facts, the Prosecutor’s Office considers him the author of a crime of threats and requests that he be sentenced to 2 years in prison, and that he be prohibited from approaching or communicating with the agent for a period of 5 years.
