In the Government control session that took place in the Congress of Deputies, Pedro Sánchez, in response to the deputy Mertxe Aizpurua, of the Euskal Herria Bildu Parliamentary Group, has pointed out as the fundamental pillar of his government action the commitment to “more jobs, more rights and, also, greater coexistence.”

In this sense, the head of the Executive recalled that in the months that have passed since the legislature, several measures have been approved for the extension of the social shield, such as the increase in the Minimum Interprofessional Salary of 5% and the revaluation of pensions. according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI). He has also mentioned that the Artistic Education Law and the Parity Law have been sent to Congress, which aims to continue walking towards real and effective equality between men and women. Likewise, a package of more than one billion euro on science has been approved, and, recently, in the Council of Ministers, the Sustainable Mobility Law.

Likewise, Sánchez has expressed his Government’s commitment to the deepening of rights and the reindustrialisation of the country thanks to the channelling of European funds, and, in relation to coexistence, the strengthening of self-government.

In response to the deputy Míriam Nogueras, of the Junts per Catalunya Parliamentary Group, the head of the Executive has insisted that his Government has three axes in its action plan for the next four years: “The first is the creation of more jobs, the second is that there is progress in social rights and, finally, coexistence.”

Furthermore, Pedro Sánchez has referred to the 116 billion euro included in the General State Budgets destined for Catalonia, a historic figure, which demonstrates the Government’s commitment to the economic and social development of that community: “Between the year 2021 and 2023 we have allocated almost 9.3 billion euro of European funds that have already reached more than 60,000 projects in Catalonia. We are investing 467 million euro for desalination projects, 116 million euro for energy transition projects, 205 million of euro for projects in the tourism sector and 536 million euro are being executed to modernise the Rodalies service”.

In his reply, the President of the Government has expressed his commitment to better coexistence and greater self-government in Catalonia, and has mentioned, in this regard, the new transfers made such as the management of the Minimum Living Income to the Generalitat and, also, the service Rodalies railway.

On the other hand, in response to deputy Aberto Núñez Feijóo, of the Popular Parliamentary Group in Congress, the President of the Government recalled that Feijóo recognised that “the only path for Catalonia and for Spain is reconciliation and not confrontation.”
